The International Year of Basic Sciences

Year 2022 is The International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD2022) by United Nations.

The year was officially launched at a conference June 30th through July 1st at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. IYBSSD2022 events are taking place around the world from January 1st 2022 to June 30th 2023.

The International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development 2022 is a key moment of mobilization to convince economic and political leaders, as well as every citizen, of the importance of taking into account and mastering basic sciences to ensure a balanced, sustainable and inclusive development of the planet. Read more.

A member of the Estonian Academy of Sciences Jüri Engelbrecht represented the Estonian Academy of Sciences at the IYBSSD2022 "World Conference on Basic Sciences and Sustainable Development", which took place in Belgrade, Serbia, on September 20-22, 2022.

We invite partners to inform us about thematic events during the IYBSSD2022 period, such as thematic conferences, workshops and training courses, collections of articles and lecture courses, press articles and TV and radio broadcasts.

Formal participation in the IYBSSD2022 programme entitles you to use the IYBSSD2022 logo and gives you free global visibility.
