President Tarmo Soomere and Professor Jaan Undusk, Director of the Under and Tuglas Literature Centre of Estonian Academy of Sciences visited the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences on 10 October 2022.
Together with President Prof. Dr. Bernd Schneidmüller and board member Prof. Dr. Matthias Kind, they discussed ways to expand cooperation. The long-standing ties of the two academies have been reflected in several joint conferences on German-Baltic cultural relations in the 16th-19th centuries and on Baltic legal culture. A first joint conference on the importance of science communication and long-term studies in the humanities and in the interaction between politics and society is to take place in Tallinn in the next few months.
