L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talent Baltic Program Awards Ceremony

On September 5, 2023, starting at 2 pm, an award ceremony for the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents Baltic Programme will take place at the Estonian Academy of Sciences. The recording of the ceremony can be watched on the academy's Youtube channel.

The award ceremony will highlight outstanding women scientists from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, their research results, and their contribution to science and innovation.

The ceremony will feature speeches by Kersti Kaljulaid, former President of the Republic of Estonia, Valéry Gaucherand, CEO of L'Oréal Poland & Baltic HUB, and Vaira Vike-Freiberga, former President of the Republic of Latvia and Honorary Patroness of the Programme.

During the ceremony, there will also be a short round table where the young talents recognized by the program will discuss the development of their scientific careers.

In addition, the President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Tarmo Soomere; the Secretary General of the Estonian National Commission for UNESCO, Kerli Gutman-Normak; the Secretary General of the Latvian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Baiba Rivza; the President of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jūras Banys and the Secretary General of the Lithuanian National Commission for UNESCO, Miglė Mašanauskienė, will also participate.

The aim of the For Women in Science program is to support the professional development of women researchers and promote, enhance, and encourage their contributions to research careers.

The ceremony will be conducted in English.
